The music today is awesome

First off the latest DJ Steveboy mix, titled "Downloadable Soul", is amazing. I particularly like Franklin Fuentes - The Robots (Are Coming) (The Scumfrog on Hudson & Herbert Remix) track and not just because of the name. You can find a bunch of mixes of this track around the Web - it was clearly intended to be a dancefloor staple and lots of people have latched onto it and put their own twist on it. Unfortunately this particular mix is bloody hard to find. The only reliable place I found it was Beatport.

At some point I might stop pointing to mixes from Mashup Industries, but probably not soon. Here we have DJ Clivester taking pop-dance Lady Gaga' "Poker Face" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ5uCfwK6qw) and crossing it with funky-pop Princess Superstar's "Perfect" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCLxdFrK4DQ). What could be more fitting to back up these pop confections than a 30-year-old (stop cringing!) Kraftwerk tune, "Showroom Dummies" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkuUuBt7nrE). Yes, that really did come out in 1977.

DJ Schmolli is not only a very bad man, he's very funny. If this one doesn't make your head go splodey then you don't have some of the same associations as I do. Beastie Boys is rich remix material, and the combination here is pretty funny.

If that one wasn't metal enough for you then you really need to get this one. Most people in the US never heard Kreator - another of the many German heavy thrash metal bands of the 80s. Metal + gangsta = win!
