Another thing you might do if you feel you have a few buck to spare

If you're one of my friends who helped her get this far thank you. If you did it just because I asked and you don't even know her - double thanks for being willing to help and trusting me/us. If you're thinking about it and you might be able to help with that last 1/3 that'd be awesome.

I mention the "people you don't even know" part because I just put a bit of money in the pot to help someone I don't know, but whose work I've enjoyed for years. Aerie, currently the writer of the webcomic Punch an' Pie, is in need of funds to help her move home. She's got a long explanation up on the site (http://www.punchanpie.net/cgi-bin/autokeenlite.cgi) and it's got stuff about her mom's death and other personal details. She needs some funds, so I put in a bit. I don't pay for the webcomic but I've been reading it for years. I figure if I toss in what a magazine subscription would've cost me I come out ahead on the whole thing.

So, y'know, if you feel like you've enjoyed someone's work for a while and want to support them, too, that'd be cool. Not all of us can afford it, given the state of jobs, economy, kids, and other demands. But when I can, I do, and if it works for you too then please consider it - whether it's Aerie, taura_g, or whoever moves you.
