Pride photos, and a memory

Pride once again found us sitting behind a table on City Hall Plaza and not marching. Most of these shots are just me picking up the camera and capturing whoever or whatever was in front of our table. I still miss the open-air and grass of the Commons, but what can you do.
The woman here pictured, whose name I never learned, greeted people as they emerged to the Plaza from the T. Her shirt advertised her reason for being there and she gave some of the best hugs! She was wonderful and cheery to everyone. She set such a good mood for me for that day I wanted to capture her image and she agreed. I wish I could hold onto that mood on days like today.
I was surprised at how many kids were at Pride this year; seemed to be a lot more than in past years. This can only be a good thing - if we can teach kids both to appreciate the diversity of humanity and to be proud of who they are I think we'll be taking a big step forward.
