Talk about your up and down...

Saturday I felt OK and the weather was awesome. I aired out the house, I cleaned things, I did dishes, I did five loads of laundry. I even worked on the taxes, a project I dread. We even made it out to a party that evening (thanks to

meadmaker for the kid-sitting once again).

Then somewhere in there the lingering throat I've had off an on for a while now decided it had enough and Sunday was going to be a sick day. I've been very careful not to share food or drink, or be around kids other than my own for a week now so I'm hopeful I haven't spread this around. Nevertheless, it's an interesting challenge to GM a tabletop game and run a raid while losing my voice. Fortunately both went tolerably well.

The D&D party managed to dispatch the baddy who had fled from them in the previous episode, along with clobbering a couple of the bad guy's hench-things. Nobody died, due partly to some luck and partly some clever play. I think the players agreed that this was their toughest opponent in some time, which is good given how hard it has been to balance encounters.
