Re Perry -- the third one, forgotten, turned out the be the DoE. Why would a republican want to get rid of the DoE? I know it has some green trim these days, but isn't it basically American's nuclear weapons factory? Getting rid of the DoE would be unilateral nuclear disarmament, inconceivable for a Republican. What am I missing?

Perhaps DoE is the agency which would be responsible for implementing climate-change-related energy regulations? Just a guess.

He might be frustrated that the DOE isn't doing enough to promote nuclear power, as evidenced by the fact that a new plant hasn't broken ground since the 70s, IIRC.
