Definitely fails the "Obituary Test:" would you want to be known as the armed 20-year-old who got taken down and killed by an unarmed 70-year-old? Nope.

Not really unique enough for a Darwin, but certainly a service to the gene pool. I'd buy the old guy a drink.

I heard the story the other day. I liked the police commentary "well its a bad part of town, we tell the tourists this all the time." It seemed as though the Costa Rican police were not concerned.
