See the previous post for the rules. Play along or not as you like.
do you like the color blue?
Yes. Though with that being primarily Pygment's color I've drifted back into blacks and occasional purples.
do you still play that free association game?
Rarely. Not many people around often enough who'll play it, and certainly not at parties. I can't stop my brain from word-associating, though, and I'll often respond to random utterances with an association. Most people just think that's weird rather than playing along.
frell, frak or merde?
Frell, almost exclusively. Usually by itself, "Frell!" Sometimes frak, usually as part of a stream like "Frakkin' frak frab-snabbin fraktard!" Merde only when I'm REALLY peeved, and coherent enough to utter "Merde! Et merde encore!" But sometimes dren instead of merde.
why montesorie(sp?) schools?
Complex reasoning plus forced choice. If one wants to take a child out of public school and not put him in a religious school or homeschool one is left with few options. Waldorf was ruled out because of their anti-TV/anti-computer stance. Montessori appealed because of their age-blending, hands-on style, and teach-to-learn opportunities.
have you ever been mellow?
You mean without the influence of recreational substances or fantastic sex? Probably not. It's not a state I highly desire, mostly because I associate "mellow" with a lack of caring and passion.

Date: 2007-03-01 04:05 pm (UTC)For example, many of us get worked up over things we literally have no control over. If one can remain concerned and caring without feeling as if "I could be doing more", then a mellow state can still be achieved.
As to why one would want to do so, it helps tremendously in the alleviation of stress. And everything gets worse under stress.

Again, possibly just definitional but I think I'd say things get more intense under stress. Worse is a value judgement that I don't think always applies. Sometimes stress is necessary to expose underlying weaknesses or to force action and resolution. I'd say that was "better" even if it might be unpleasant.
