Minor dental stuff
Mar. 28th, 2012 01:08 pmThe oddest part of getting the permanent crown in is re-remembering that I can chew on both sides of my mouth again. This time I broke the temp crown by chewing on that (right) side. It was late, I was tired and hungry and scarfing a late-night snack and... yecch. Fortunately they were able to give me a new temp the next day, but it made me extra-aware of always having to chew on the left. Except now I don't anymore.
I like my dentist and I like the people who work in their office but I could really stand not to be on a first-name basis with EVERYONE in there. Also, I'd like not to have such a complete understanding of which of them has the bigger hands, despite being shorter in height.
Fortunately this is the last of the known-bad problems. This tooth actually cracked last year but bless their hearts (and one of the reasons I like my dentist) they checked my benefit status last year and saw I had used up certain insurance. Waiting 'till 2012 to get this done meant a small amount of risk, but the dentist and I agreed it was worthwhile and it meant the insurance paid the most I was eligible to get. It would just be nice not to have to make these calculations.
