LJ seems to want me to think my journal has been deleted and purged. That seems... unfortunate.

ETA: it does remind me I ought to find a good way to archive the journal now that ljarchive no longer works.

Thanks! It hadn't been updated in so long I stopped looking. Got the latest off Sourceforge and am giving it a try now.

My understanding is that LJArchive didn't change, but rather LJ renabled the relevent API.

But I'll check my LJArchive version number when I get home.

I use DW as my canonical source (I imported all my LJ entries), since (for no particular reason) I feel that DW is more stable than LJ. (I generally assume that LJ could disappear sans notice.) DW then helpfully xposts to LJ for me.

I only do this so I have some sort of backup. I would not argue that it's a very good one, but at least it's something. :)

Wordpress allows importing an entire LJ when setting up a WP blog. On my WP (http://davidfcooper.wordpress.com) scroll down to "Archives" in the right margin where everything prior to sometime in 2008 or so was imported from LJ.
