Newcastle Brown Ale can't advertise on the Superbowl - they're an alcohol. In fact, they can't even use the word Superbowl because the NFL sues everyone who does so without the NFL's permission. Being British, they think this is all hilarious and have created a site and a whole pseudo-ad campaign around the ad they aren't making.

I needed something to lighten up after yesterday's somber posts.

I thought that they changed the rules and no longer allow alcohol advertising. However, I think that Bud may have commercials again this year, which makes me wonder why Newcastle was prohibited.

I believe they can't advertise in the SB because they don't have the advertising budget.
And they can't use the words SB because the NFL will sue them if they haven't shelled out for advertising rights.
I don't think being an alcohol has anything to do with any of it.
