So, caveat that I'm learning a little about how the Internet works: To demonstrate that I *think* I am grasping a new concept, I was trying to find a way to explain to <ljuser="badlittlemonkey"> MY understanding of the OSI Model -- and particularly the difference between UDP and TCP.

So here it is: UDP is Twitter. You send something out into the ether, and you have no investment in its being received or responded to. TCP is Facebook (or LJ or G+ -- pick your poison). You send something out, but you EXPECT it to be received, and for there to be some kind of feedback.

I welcome correction. But.. the correlation has been amusing me. :)

It's not an entirely bad analogy. Why you're learning about the OSI model is a mystery I'd love to hear about.

That said, I'm not sure most people tweet most things expecting them to go unreplied.
