33 Things About You (meme)
May. 8th, 2007 09:56 am(gakked from rednikki, edited to suit my own desires) I'd like to know 33 things about you. It doesn't matter if I know you personally or otherwise. If you'd like to play, please post your answers by commenting to this post or in your own LJ with a note here to that effect.
1. Can you cook?
Yes, sort of. I've reached the level where I can mostly prep ingredients, put them into something and cook such that a tasty mess comes out the other end. Complex preparations and particularly things that require timing multiple parallel things to come out together - forget it.
2. What was your dream growing up?
To be an astronaut. First one on Mars, first deep-sleep extra-solar ship - either would have been good.
3. What talent do you wish you had?
A toss-up between playing an instrument well or speaking non-English languages easily. Both require lots of effort I've never been willing to invest.
4. Favorite place?
Wherever the wifey is. Secondarily, home.
5. Favorite vegetable?
Depends - I've grown fond of spinach in many forms but probably I still prefer fresh crunchy snap peas.
6. What was the last book you read?
A biography of Alan Turing. It was so awful I won't even mention the title. I gave up and am starting a John Shirley book now as a way of cleansing my brain.
7. What zodiac sign are you, and how much does it matter?
Gemini and not at all.
8. Any Tattoos and/or Piercings?
One very conventional earlobe piercing. No tats, yet.
9. Worst Habit?
Laziness.
10. Do we know each other outside of LJ; if so, how?
For rednikki: yes, through your ex.
11. What is your favorite spectator sport?
Swimming or diving, particularly at the Olympic level.
12. Do you generally have a pessimistic or optimistic attitude?
I call myself an optimist by nature, cynic by profession.
13. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
For rednikki: use it as a chance to catch up on all the talking we don't do given how far away you live and how much too busy you are to IM.
14. Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A bit too personal for an LJ post.
15. Tell me one weird fact about you:
I've never had a broken bone, despite several incidents that should have resulted in them.
16. Do you have any pets?
Nope.
17. Do you collect anything, as a hobby?
I used to collect stamps; gave it up in High School.
18. When was the last time you saw a sunrise?
I'm generally up before full light these days, but an actual sunrise would probably have been just before the Daylight Savings Time shift.
19. Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
Scary.
20. If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
I'd love to get rid of these last 15 lbs and be less blobby around the midriff.
21. Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?
For rednikki: crime partner, definitely.
22. What color eyes do you have?
Variable. I generally put "hazel" on forms that require single choices.
23. Ever been arrested?
No.
24. Bottle or Draft?
Depends. Generally draft if it's a small and local; bottle for brand-names.
25. If you won $10,000 dollars today, what would you do with it?
Pay off a few debts, do a few big house maintenance things.
26. What's your favorite fidget toy?
Whatever happens to be at hand - most of my sitting places are loaded with them.
27. Where do you go to relax (that is not home)?
Dyke coffee bars in Davis Sq.
28. Do you believe in ghosts?
No.
29. Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Game or read if indoors. If outdoors, walk or find some place for a good dinner.
30. Do you swear a lot?
Not anymore.
31. Biggest pet peeve?
I have to pick one? Willful stupidity.
32. Describe yourself in one word or one song lyric?
Impossible
33. Will you repost this so I can fill it out and do the same for you?
Obviously yes.

You think that you're impossible in a good way or a bad way? Never mind; you'll probably just say, "Yes." :-)
