What does success look like to you?

This is a serious question and I'm not even sure I've formed it correctly. I'm interested in how you all answer it, regardless.

This may sound like an evasive non-answer, but success to me usually looks like the absence of failure. That is: most of the time, I am simply attempting to avoid violating obligations or expectations. When I don't feel like I'm at risk of doing those things right this moment, I feel pretty successful.

The second tier of success for me looks like praise.

I don't endorse any of this; not hardly. But it's basically true.
