"FDA recommends ending lifetime ban on gay men donating blood"

Note that the headline says "gay"; the text of the article says "gay and bisexual" (hey, we exist!), and the AMA correctly identifies it as MSM, men who have sex with men.

Part of the point here is to bring policy in line with the best scientific evidence we have. This evidence says the ban is a bad idea. The evidence also points to the ineffectiveness of judging these things based on orientation words (gay, bi) and recommends using action-oriented terms such as MSM.

As with so many things, today is a good day not to read the comments.

I wonder if there will be an explicit cascade to release the prohibition for WSMSM (women who have sex with men, who have had sex with men) or will it be implicit?
