It's probably a BAD thing when the building management sends around an email to everyone saying "Please ignore that fire alarm - it's a false alarm" and you and your coworkers are all saying "WHAT fire alarm?"

one of the places that I used to work was a sky scrapper and it developed problems with the fire alarms.

i learned 2 things.
1) sitting in your cube and seeing 6 firemen run past - in full gear
it SCARY AS HELL on the 17 floor

2) there are few things as good and reassuring in life
as BORED FIREMEN.

if the guy with the fire fighting gear are standing around smoking and sipping coffee: there is NOTHING AT ALL to be worried about.

Um, yeah, I think that's very likely to be true.

Is anybody telling building management that the fire alarm isn't audible in your section of the building?
