OK Cupid sent me an email today with the subject "roses are red. So is goat blood."

That did get me to open the email, which 'explained'

How did ancient Romans find dates? During the Lupercalia festival, men would sacrifice a goat and a dog, then slap women with the bloody hides. The women welcomed this, believing it increased fertility.

That "helping" thing? Yer doin' it wrong.

Urgh. I'm glad I'm not on the market now because then I'd feel like I had to take them to task for that and I just don't have the energy.
