For those not Boston-local I should explain. The Paradise is a very popular show venue in town. Lots of acts come there. It's a horrid place to see a show - sightlines are bad, acoustics are awful, and the floor squelches. No, I'm not making that up. But still, they book a lot of acts, including Bob Mould.

I'm going to see him there on May 1 - if anyone wants to join me (us) please do. He's that good.

Ah, the Paradise

I can't remember who it was that I saw there. It wasn't Bob Mould, but somehow, I get the feeling it was someone like Jane's Addiction or the Ramones (even though I know for sure it wasn't either). The main act was a total ass-kicking, balls to the wall show that didn't stop for 90 minutes. And then went on for another half hour.

It was hot. It was over crowded. The sound sucked, but no one gave a shit. I kept getting kicked in the head by people in the mosh pit. I came home smelling like shitty beer and stale cigarettes. Did I mention it was crowded and the sound sucked?

But it was one of the best shows I ever saw.
