This weekend I did nothing
Nov. 1st, 2017 10:18 amI mean, lots of nothing. I turned down four events, I think? Both Pygment and I have been low energy, generally fatigued, and not nearly as social as we normally would be.
There are a variety of reasons - she's doing a ton of extra driving; I spent a week in Houston for work doing a lot more personal interacting and being "on stage" than I'm used to; neither of us has had consistently good sleep.
If I missed your event I'm sorry, please don't take it personally. I'm still trying to be social, but preferring one-on-one or small group social to bigger things.
The Houston week was good. I got to see some folk I work with remotely, got to Anvil again (very highly recommended if you ever go to Houston) ate a lot of good food, and saw "The Foreigner", which I reviewed here. That plus working 9+ hour days all week, plus travel, turned out to be draining for me.
(For those who care, travel is very anxiogenic for me. This trip especially so, as there was an accident on 93 that backed up traffic horribly and a 30-45 minute trip via the commuter bus turned into 75 minutes. I got to the terminal with 15 minutes to my flight, and made it only on the kindness of the TSA at Logan and the passengers who let me cut in line ahead of them.)
Technically it's not true that I did nothing - there was unpacking and cleaning and house chores as there normally is. I ran another episode (number 421) of The D&D Game That Keeps Going. We had a long hiatus and I'm hopeful we can get back on our more-regular schedule.
