Watching (Marvel) television on Netflix - questions

I've more or less simultaneously started watching the 5th Season of Agents of Shield and the first season of Luke Cage on Netflix. I have questions and would like to know if people have answers without spoilers.

AoS: this seasons, at least in the first three episodes, absolutely REEKS of "jumped the shark". Like, we have no idea what to do with anything you thought was the plot before so we're going to yank everything into this entirely new and who-gives-a-shit anyway reality just so we can have these characters do some stuff because they have contracts that say they do stuff. Does it get better or is this season going to be a complete wash?

LC: Is there anyone actually nice in this series other than Luke himself? (OK, Pops, but you know...) Everyone else is a gangster, an asshole, a liar of some variety, or some combination of these things. I am not opposed to continuing to watch it because I have a fairly high tolerance for watching assholes get punched out, but I would like someone at least reasonably sympathetic to come along, or develop or something. Should I keep watching this?

I've not seen that show at all, so I know absolutely jack shit about it. But, hey, if you really don't get anything out of watching it, why bother?

Not sure which show you're referring to. Luke Cage has the singular status of being a black-led production about black people in a notorious black neighborhood. As such, it offers a point of view and style that aren't often seen. The main villain at the moment runs a nightclub and the show features some of the acts that play at his club. That's worth the price of admission, so far. I'd just like some more sympathetic characters.

AoS... I really enjoyed the first couple seasons and have found good bits in much of what they've done. There are points where shows stretch and go in new directions and sometimes there are growing pains in that. Then there are shows that just jump the shark.

To be honest, I'm not sure which show I was referring to, either, if I was referring to one in particular. Without going back and checking, I'll just say that the shark-jumping one I referred to was whichever one you said it was, and ... feh, that's all I've got.

Misty Knight is pretty awesome. Mariah is not nice but watching Alfre Woodard be a badassed bitch is sufficiently enjoyable to me.

I have a low tolerance for shows where I don't actually like anyone, and I haven't run into that with Luke Cage, personally.

As for AoS.... Shield In Space eventually grew on me. Eventually. But you're not wrong.

I also thought Night Nurse (forget her name) was pretty sympathetic, and she becomes a major character on Cage.
