Health update. Nothing particularly icky. tl;dr we're in the final week before surgery.
Had the pre-op screening appointment this morning. I'm as normal as can be, given the situation.
I learned that there was an "abnormal" mark on my previous EKG, which nobody particularly thought to mention to me before. Thanks, guys! Today's EKG was normal.
Meds all as expected. Doc noted that it would be good to bring inhaler to the surgery, which is new news to me.
The nurse asked about my experiences going through this last time and I kind of dumped on her my frustration with their lack of planning/communication.
Doc and I discussed some of the symptoms I'm having from the stent. He says I'm in the "worse 50%" but not nearly as bad as some people. He says there's a guy who complained that his stent bothered him only when he was on the elliptical. I want to slap this man - I did 20 minutes of weeding each day last weekend and that was pretty much my spoons for the day.
The doc also mentioned that constipation is a common side-effect of pain. Why does nobody tell me these things? I had been assuming it was the medication or the stent, but no. In retrospect it's obvious, particularly given how badly my abdominal wall muscles have cramped, but ... duh. Someone should tell me these things.
Fun note for people who pee standing up: blood in the urine makes it REAL easy to see where you dripped. Yeesh.
Surgery is set for the 17th; I'll call next Monday to get more precise timing. Cross your fingers, say prayers if that's your thing, and wish me well. I'd really like not to roll badly this time.

I'm afraid I don't believe in a deity that I could pray to, but I hope random chance operates in your favor. :-)
