Black in music can mean a bunch of things. Herewith, four of them.

Soul Like Khan have put up an entire album of mashes and remixes. Almost all of them feature Black artist from the jazz, rap, and funk genres. There's a lot of interesting crossover stuff, and a lot of profanity from the rap side. Some well-known DJs contributed (DJ BC, Lobsterdust, Marc Jonce, etc) and there are a couple of new names here to watch. Also don't miss the extras - some of the best mixes are down there.

The Ramones - the original American boys in black - were punk with fun. I got to see them live in a small theater my freshman year of undergrad, when I was still high on Sex Pistols and Serious Punk(tm). These guys were just there to have fun and they let everyone know it. Blitzkrieg Bop was the Ramones' debut single and contained the "Hey! Ho! Let's Go!" that became the band's theme and uses the same three chords that compose 90% of their music. Here it gets a loving smooth workover by Drop Out Orchestra (http://soundcloud.com/dropoutorchestra).

I think I either nicked these directly from DJ Purple's set lists or from links I followed out of them, so hat-tip there. These two are black as in goth. The first one is Zombie Girl doing electro-goth with a down-and-dirty bass fuzz that evokes the old B movie slasher/horror soundtracks. Maybe it's just me but I can trace a fairly clear line from old Ramones (Pet Cematary anyone?) to this.

Zeromancer is industrial-goth, but with a similar dark theme (here, suicide). I'm not sure what it says that I think of this sort of music as fun and danceable.
