I am geeky. Star Trek fans are geeky. How the hell many geeks do they think are not going to notice that young Spock is Sylar??

Though I suppose we all dealt with the Matrix-LotR wrongness. But this is... oh dear.

In the trailer, where he says "I will not allow you to lecture me" it's just SO much the other character.

Brain hurt now.

(I was slightly amused by PvP's take on it: http://www.pvponline.com/comics/pvp20081118.gif)

We were all thinking it, though!

Speaking as someone who was a serious hard-core TOS fan as a kid, and who never really got into any of the movies or successor series, this film looks like it might maybe just possibly be excellent. We'll see.

Well, my three-year-old has never seen Heroes, so he didn't have that disconnect. He was in awe over the trailers, though.

I had to Google Sylar... I can count on one hand with fingers left over the number of sci-fi TV series I've watched seriously (assuming we don't count spin-offs separately).

I have to agree with Brent. :D

The wierd think about Sylar is, he's got the right look - he makes a very passable Spock. I think it'll be hard not to expect him to cut open heads, especially since I've seen a screenshot of him with his hand around Kirk's throat... but I'll be willing to give them a shot, at least.

And, honestly, it's not like we aren't going to be looking at Scotty in the same way, and thinking, "Okay, when does he pretend to be a zombie?"

Actually, after having seen the trailer a second time.... I didn't get that from that line. It's not delivered in a threatening way at all.

I think that Spock engaging in hand-to-hand combat is a lot weirder and may push those Sylar buttons a lot more.

I do sure like the trailer.
