A front strut spring broke (like, completely, it snapped in two). Had the front struts replaced, and found that having the steering wheel straight means the car turns left, and going straight requires keeping the wheel about 10 degrees right. Dealership says steering control arm is physically bent out of shape, and it and the knuckle need to be replaced. They say it wasn't caused by the broken strut. They wonder, though, if someone hit my car while it was parked and pushed it sideways. No, my car was parked in an enclosed garage spot. Well, maybe a really big pot-hole, they suggest.
Geesh! Sympathies. I might suggest that for a very expensive repair you get a second opinion. The current repair, although expensive, is about 20% cheaper than the price the dealership quoted me for the work.
