One door closes

I received the call this morning from the home where my mother has been. She is gone. I'm heading down to make such arrangements as are necessary and tend to things there. I'll post more updates as I have them.

Do not rent from Hertz, for they are lying sacks of feces

There's a slightly longer story, but I don't have the spoons to type it out. The short form is that they promised me a car and then left it to their counterperson to tell me that there were in fact no cars available. Apparently they do this all the time.

By contrast National, Avis, Alamo, and Enterprise all had no problem determining that there were no cars available at the place/time I wanted. Only Hertz felt compelled to lie about it.

I normally rent from National, but see above. Never again, Hertz. Never again.
