I'm currently caught in the "can't post to LJ from browser" bug. I've tried restarting the browser and even posting from an entirely different browser. If this works well now you know.

Fascinating. Not only does LJ beetle work, I appear able to post in the phone's web browser. I still need a real network to do further tests, which Amtrak does not provide despite claims to the contrary.

OK the "can't post" is indeed a session bug

Here's what I gleaned from the LJ Known Issues thread:

Go to - Account - History - Manage Login Sessions

Under "current logged in sessions" there should be only 1 line - Current Session. All other lines here are sessions that were not logged out of properly and need to be logged out of manually. Click on the button to the right and they will be moved to the "Prior Sessions" section until you are left with only your current session. DONE!!

Except not quite. Even after executing these steps I could not create a new post. I then guessed the bugged session was the one I was currently in so I used the standard UI "log out" button. After I did that posting appears to have returned to normal.

(Yesterday) was a hard day

Today (actually I wrote this yesterday and failed to post it, then got bit by the can't-post bug) I met Mom's lawyer, who is now my co-executor. We've spoken by email and phone many times but never managed to meet her in person. I signed a lot of papers with my legal name. There's a lot to do and I'm glad Mom had a lawyer lined up to do them because I would not have known or would have forgotten.

Email went out today yesterday about shiva: Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon and evening, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. I put the recipient list together as best I could in the circumstances. If I omitted you please forgive me and send an email; I'll forward you the details.
