People who value process over product really bug me.

People who value process over people make me reach for the napalm.

(No, this isn't talking about any of you. I'm venting.)

So in the first statement it's the work that's more important than the outcome?

And the second it's the conversation that's more important than the people in the conversation?

I'm not sure I understand the latter. I can see a place for the first cause sometimes while you're processing, your end point, or goal can shift but... I'm not understanding.

ARGH. I'm having this first argument with one of my programmers right now. She wants me to close every sprint with a build. That is actually not a requirement to close a sprint. A sprint is a unit of time. It is *supposed* to end with a product, but that is not a requirement. Hitting a time mark is the closure.

My beloved has been having that very experience at work for over a year and he's utterly fed up too.
*hugs*

This could apply to the “least restrictive” IEP guideline as well.
